Missmoneypeny started 7 years ago. Our aim was to create an upmarket , modern brand of sustainable fashion. The fashion industry is one of the worst polluters of the environment, see our facts page. By using secondhand, recycled fabrics we have managed to achieve our aim. We spend hours handpicking suitable sarees for each individual garment. All our garments are produced locally from locally sourced pre owned fabrics. Each and every piece is unique.

HOW ARE WE “GREEN”…..

The most important environmental aspect of our business is that we create no waste. After we have produced our garments, we take the left over fabrics and turn them into fun and innovative by products. These include earings, bangles, scarves, bags and shoes, lampshades, also all one offs.

Any fabrics left over from all of that are donated to Umngazi River Lodge www.umngazi.co.za (an eco-village in the transkie), which through their own charity programmes distribute the fabric to the local communities to be used for clothes, scarves, pillow stuffing ect.

We have in the pipeline some projects where we ourselves will host workshops with various organizations and teach the ladies ideas and skills to create an income from our offcuts of fabrics.

This way NOTHING GOES TO WASTE!!

The only way to be truly ‘green’ is to use what is already available to you, by not creating a need to produce new fabrics you are ultimately saving the environment.

We do our best to consider the environment while still producing a boho beautiful range of ladies wear and accessories.

WE HAVE MADE IT POSSIBLE TO LOOK AFTER THE ENVIRONMENT IN STYLE.
